Slander suit over six years damages cattle and horses
Joseph R. Silver sues T. C. Jackson in district court alleging slander over six years. He seeks 325,000 for reputational harm from statements in 1911 and 1912 about Silver stealing horses and cattle. The case, before Judge Donian, features Jackson’s remarks to J. Morton Swongford and to B. Orem and Roy Ayers. Separate actions involve Me. Silver’s quarry operation and an Anaconda Copper case seeking a restraining order against Pilot Butte’s ore removal, with hearings postponed by Judge Tach.
