Anaconda News notes only ten days remain in Deer Lodge county to pay the November installment of taxes. Payments may be made in two installments in May and November to ease the burden. Delinquent lists and penalties apply after the month end. County treasurer Gordon Kerry urges prompt payment to avoid rush at year end.
Anaconda Postmaster Phil Daniels warns that many mall shoppers undervalue postage on greeting cards. Unsealed printed cards require a two cent stamp. unsealed or written messages on cards incur third class or letter rate pricing. Correct postage ensures prompt delivery and avoids return or delays.
Anacondans faced a rare weather quirk as the thermometer lingered at 38 degrees all day. Partial clouds and intermittent winds accompanied a light snowfall, otherwise clear skies marked the day.
Funeral services for Lorena Skelton 10 daughter of Mr and Mrs Harold Skelton were held from the family residence at 110 Walnut Street then at the Latter Day Saints church with Elder Ersell Shirts presiding. A small sedan driven by Arthur Tuchscherer lost a right rear wheel after a collision with Ed Gratpner at the Main and Third streets intersection. No injuries are reported, and police are investigating the crash details.
Yesterday afternoon a machine driven by Graupner and a car driven by Mr. Tuchscherer collided. Graupner's car was only slightly damaged while the Tuchscherer vehicle needed repairs. One passenger was injured in the accident.
A divorce complaint was filed by Mike Suput against Agnes Suput in the district court. The plaintiff alleges his wife willfully deserted him in September 1919 and has remained away from home since. The couple married in Anaconda on December 6, 1912.
