Public Invited to Hear Butte Crippled Children Report
At the Butte Chamber of Commerce last night the Butte Auxiliary for the Rehabilitation of Crippled Children added two new patients to its list and received a $10 donation from the Clerks' union. Nurse Louise Schrupp reported favorable progress for all under care, with an annual meeting set for December 7 to present a full year’s activity, patients treated in Butte and Billings, muscle training, and per-patient expenses. The group emphasizes no overhead, with volunteers performing all work, and invites city organizations and the public to attend and gain full insight into its work.

Jail-breaker hunted as guards close in on Meredith Hill
Frank George Fellows, a Tennessee jailbreaker pursued nationwide for days, was believed trapped in woods on Meredith Hill, New Hampshire. Three hundred armed citizens and national guardsmen converged at dawn to press into the underbrush. A prior arrest attempt in Ashland left Constable Dow wounded. A witness, former Ashland officer Pellettee, reported seeing a man who fired at him and fled, likely Fellows, as authorities seek to detain him before he can reach Lancaster to see his wife and baby.

Retired officer commits death by own action
Col Karl D Klemm retired commander of 129th field artillery and former brigadier general in the officers reserve corps killed himself in his office in Kansas City. A failed Fokker airplane factory bid for Kansas City and a defeated $500000 municipal aviation bond issue were cited as contributory causes. Mrs Klemm said he had been depressed since the Detroit plant announcement. Dr Samuel Ayers noted the bond defeat troubled him. Klemm headed local aviation finance efforts and chaired regional railway interests.
