In Goin Missouri on November 15 Mrs Grover Buford stabbed three of her four children to death with a knife at their home and then tried to kill herself. A fourth child a boy aged shown in incomplete OCR witnessed the tragedy and sought help at a nearby bar. Mrs Buford had been ill.
Special Dispatch reports Butte has the largest postal savings deposits in the western United States, surpassing every Rocky Mountain and Pacific coast city. The figure cited shows deposits near 8200.00 more in Butte than Spokane, with Montana and neighboring regional post offices noted.
