At Buffalo the delegates to the convention heard a speech stressing unity and wartime cooperation. The president of the Federation of Labor declared a firm belief in peace only after victory and denounced pacifists. He urged continued effort day and night until the job is finished, while noting Austro-German aims and the need for allied coordination. The address hinted at further unity within labor and with allied nations in the war effort.

New York November 12 Sir Stephenson Kent head of the British munitions mission told the New York chamber of commerce that war must be fought economically with every skilled worker used to the utmost. He called the waste of manpower and skill a crime and urged strict efficiency in industry and the army to hasten victory.
New York, Nov 17 Aero Club of America adopts resolutions urging Congress to appropriate not less than 1 billion dollars to build a fleet of huge warplanes to offset Germany's mobility on interior lines. The plan adds to a prior 1 billion for the current aeronautic program. Christmas packages for service members aboard ships must arrive in New York by Nov 24 per Navy rules.
Petrograd November 12 Leon Trotzky principal aide of Nikolai Lenin at the Smolny Institute today replied to the AP’s request for his views on the situation. I may say that we are making all our statements now by means of cannon. I have nothing to say otherwise. Premier Kerensky is in the palace at Gatchina. Bolsheviki leaders appear to be confident of the army’s support.
