Campaign leaders urge local churches and service groups to begin a Chest relief drive in Butte. Clergy members appeal from pulpits stressing the Necessity of supporting the relief movement and inviting generous contributions to the Chest fund.
In Butte churches will urge liberal contributions to a three day community chest campaign aiding the winter relief effort. Volunteers meet at the high school auditorium for final instructions while headquarters at Montana Power will coordinate aid. Eugene Carroll predicts strong citizen generosity as hundreds seek help for dire conditions including clothing, bedding, and food shortages among the city’s needy.
Ulster premier Sir James Craig met with Prime Minister Lloyd George and Austen Chamberlain in London to discuss Ulster’s role in the planned conference with Sinn Fein. The talks extended over hours as government officials joined, but Craig declined to comment on Ulster’s position after adjournment.
Marshal Foch toured Chicago during a peace time visit as crowds gathered in Lincoln Park and at the university. He received a wreath at the Lincoln statue and observed a lengthy parade of soldiers. After a week of entertainment in four major midwestern cities he rested at Lake Shore Drive. A Knights of Columbus ceremony to honor him as the one millionth Knight is planned.

He attacked War Secretary Weeks and General Pershing for denying the claims, calling their denials an outrageous and untrue accusation. Telegrams and letters supporting the charges were presented, including a photograph of an alleged army gallows.
Judge Webster Thayer denounced from the bench a bold attempt to interfere with the law as telegrams and letters urged a new trial for Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti. In Norfolk County Superior Court guarded by state police, Thayer took the motion for a new trial under advisement and granted defense counsel until next Tuesday to file another petition alleging jury room irregularities.
The Senate defeated a bonus amendment aimed at opposing the Reed tax bill. The proposed measure sought to enact the seller bonus bill and retain excess profits to finance the act. Five Republicans Capper Johnson Kenyon Ladd La Follette supported the amendment while Glas and Myers voted against it.
A Common Pleas Judge Maurioe Beruor restrained Mayor W. Titageraid and any city employee from hindering the Vernon company plant at the Telling Belle and from interfering with the companys ink delivery swan. The ruling bars actions affecting operations of the Vernon plant pending further proceedings.

Last heard from in Charleston Illinois with mail to Hutchinson Kansas. Sister-in-law fears he carried a large sum and may have been waylaid. card from Aug 29 described a strong hike.
Terre Haute Ind Nov 3 Associated Press reports coal miners and operators groups moved to end the 28,000 United Mine Workers strike that began last Wednesday in Indiana bituminous fields. The protest targeted Judge Anderson's injunction against the check-off system. Officials predicted a general resumption of mining on Monday.
