Mother dies saving child from Montana gasoline explosion
Mrs. L M Appley of Devon Toole county died in Shelby from burns and exposure after rescuing her 3 year old daughter from a kitchen gasoline blast. The child was seriously burned but recovering. Mrs Appley used a coat and her own garments to shield the blaze as she carried the child to safety and waited for a passing car. She died soon after reaching Shelby. Also reported: gambling charges filed in Butte district court against 30 men and abatement actions against 11 downtown gaming houses, ordered by Attorney General L A Foot after undercover probes.
