Judge sentences old soldier to jail for drinking spree
John Jenkins an elderly veteran with a craving for strong drink was sentenced to 30 days in the county jail after repeated court appearances this week Judge Boyle dismissed excuses and warned against evading punishment. Bob Tee itinerant drinker received 20 days or a floater as he headed toward Silver Bow Junction to catch a southbound freight. Several others were fined for drunkenness and peace disturbances. Local piano shop Orton Bros & Pond advertised bargains on pianos and organs with used and new instruments offered on easy payments at 219 North Main St Butte Montana. Hunter's Hot Springs offered three and eight day passes via Northern Pacific for travel, lodging and baths from prominent Montana points.
