German Attache Details Plan to Corner War Materials

He warned that failure to keep the United States out of the alliance would mean Germany’s defeat. He described plans to seize munition factories, divert labor, and bar munitions from the Entente, including a plot to attack New York subway tunnels and water mains with U boats. The testimony also touched on alleged neutral attitudes in Washington and the role of British and American officials in information and espionage efforts.
