London May 22 Indications the government has not completed arrests are seen in the Dublin capture of PF Burke Sinn Fein leader in Monaghan. Several Sinn Fein leaders evaded police after the Dublin coup as authorities search near Dublin. The best known leaders of the revolutionary Sinn Fein wing are in custody, but many influential conspirators remain unknown to the Irish public. Dillon appeals to Irish Americans to support the nationalist party amid government tactics and Sinn Fein policy criticisms.

Washington May 22 news of the death of Ensign Stephen Potter naval reserve who was killed while fighting seven enemy single seated airplanes for the North Sea on April 23 was received from London. Potter had been second pilot to a British royal flying boat and had shot a German beyond Heligoland Bight.
Washington May 22. Counsel for Senator La Follette closed today after two days of argument before the senate privileges and elections committee. They urged dismissal of charges tied to a St Paul speech last September and defended the senator as honest even among public critics. The attorney said the St Paul address was factual and that newspaper misrepresentation fueled the controversy. Two weeks were set for a supplementary brief. It was not clear if the committee will take further action.
Naval and private wireless messages report the Japanese freighter Maru of the Osaki Shosen line on fire off the North Pacific coast. Crew have been transferred to the Canada Maru of the same line. Fire conditions and current status are not fully disclosed.
Washington May 22 Representatives from the copper industry urged the war industries board price-fixing committee to lift the government price from 23 1/2 cents to 30 cents per pound for three months beginning June 1. They cited high labor and material costs and warned small producers may quit unless a higher rate is fixed. A compromise likely after further talks with suggestions of 25 cents at eastern refineries.
In Silver Row county Sheriff John F Melia and Deputies Avelaid Quigley were dismissed after a raid on the Sunrise saloon. John K O'Rourke says Melia exceeded authority during the raid and a split in his staff followed. Under Sheriff Whalen, a longtime ally, was appointed by O'Rourke. The Sunrise injunction remains in effect with $1,500 bond posted. Local officials describe the events as a disturbance with no arrests made at the time.
