Har Times Evidence Sale of Liberty Bonds
New York May 18 The pinch of hard times for the small investor was clearly evident in the sale of Liberty bonds and Victory notes with one exception, all sold at new low records. Bond transactions totaled almost 31 million dollars as prices declined from 58 to 156 points below yesterday’s close. Brokers attributed the drop to fears of a tax bill this session and to sellers in blocks by corporations and wealthy individuals, plus individuals needing cash and banks’ loan difficulties.

Instead they will wear garments designed by Duval to present a distinctive appearance, a move sparked by fastidious standards and club etiquette. Also touched on are Philippine tobacco profits, cigars exporting mainly to the United States, and a dramatic analogy equating one billion dollars to four miles of coin-lined transport using ten-ton tacks.
