Building Work in Butte to Start Under American Plan
In Butte after a three month strike and failed negotiations, the city adopts the American plan to hire workers on merit with fair wages. Employers will bear financial risks and provide steady work, while unions and contractors face changes intended to end a local dominance. The move aims to settle disputes and attract skilled labor, urging former workers to return or risk replacement by capable newcomers.
