Any respectable lady more than 16 years of age is eligible, provided conditions set forth below. Candidates must reside in the district or territory from which nominated. No candidate will be permitted to transfer votes to another after receiving them for herself. The right is reserved to withdraw the offer in any district where only five candidates are nominated or voted for. Ballots sent in for names not properly nominated will be destroyed uncounted.
A ballot will be printed daily during the contest and will count ten votes. Ballots must be dated and void unless received by the Standard office in Butte or Anaconda by the expiration date. Ballots must be sent to the Contest Department of the Standard in Butte or Anaconda with postage prepaid. No employee of the Standard or a family member may be a candidate. Candidates must accept these conditions.
The districts assign territory by city, county and rail lines including Butte north of Park street in District 4 and south in District 2 Anaconda Deer Lodge county in District 3 routes along the Milwaukee St Paul Northern Pacific main lines and branches are listed for Districts 4 5 6 7 8 with Three Forks Helena and other towns named In case of a tie prizes of equal value will be awarded to tied contestants.
