Fire Department Opens Summer Drills With Three Weekly Sessions
The regular summer drills began yesterday under Chief Mentrum. Firemen simulated fires at Lincoln school and the Margaret theater, running ladders and laying hoses. Three drills weekly will continue on Tuesday Thursday and Saturday mornings, weather permitting. A Saturday 8:20 a.m. drill on City Hall will focus on life saving line and best practices.

One of the Argonauts Passes in Anaconda Pioneer Ransom Tuttle Dead
Ransom Tuttle, a longtime Anaconda resident and early settler who joined the California gold rush and later prospected across the West, died in Anaconda. He sailed from New York in 1849, spent years in California and the Black Hills, worked in Deadwood and Butte, and settled in Anaconda in 1883 where he remained renowned for summer prospecting ventures in the hills.
