Dedrick won the 40 yard dash in 6 seconds, Burton ran the half mile in 9 23, Alien did the mile in 5 38, Vat Hotten swept hurdles, McKenzie took the shot put and hammer marks, Simpegn won the pole vault and achieved a high jump of five feet.
Colville sprinter Charles Wright, son of the Colville police chief, is reported to have run 60 yards in 9.0 seconds in a preliminary meet, claiming a world record. The Washington State college track hosts 835 contestants as Whitman College and others compete in a triangular meet with several notable performances and transfers noted.
Maurice Thompson of Spokane schedules a boxing card tomorrow night at the armory featuring a bout with Louis Orsey in a midweight pairing. The Spokane event includes Mel Pherson and Pate Moa facing Bo Larson with other matches listed, promising a strong lineup.
