Temporary courthouse houses students in Alaska and Quarts streets
A former temporary court building on Alaska and Quarts streets housed a dozen pupils with absenteeism noted. Classes occupied two upstairs rooms while the rest moved from the old courthouse. The rooms were well heated, lit, and ventilated, and officials appeared satisfied despite shorter space. The term will end in about a month, with bond elections and bidding ongoing. The county may continue using the temporary quarters until a loan is secured or construction. A separate note mentions Philadelphia scientists en route to Hawaii to study tree snails for three months.
