Governor Erickson signs gasoline tax bill despite distribution concerns
Helena dispatch reports Governor Erickson signed house bill 330 the gasoline tax measure while voicing concerns over distribution terms. The bill allocates 30 percent to the general fund 15 percent to the highway fund and 55 percent to counties for road use. He notes other collection provisions should be included though the merits outweigh objections. He also comments on the police law seeking to avoid politicizing city police departments. The veto message indicates unease with proposed changes but preserves existing city sentiment.
