Washington March The feature of the tenth annual Indoor meet at Georgetown was a 1 mile hurdle race between Cornell and Columbia. Cornell sprinted ahead on the last lap to defeat Columbia by about a yard in 9 minutes 2 seconds. Smithson of the New York Athletic Club broke the American record with 5 seconds faster than prior. Case transfer sought over prejudice in criminal operation charge

Special Despatch to the Standard Rules, March 7. Counsel for Dr. W. A. Allen charged with performing a criminal operation on Minnie Caelson petitioned the district court to transfer the case to another county. They claim bias in Stone County would render a fair trial unlikely, noting a hung jury in December.
