Fast flight over Glacier Park sets pace for coast to coast
In Kalispell on June 29 Lieut Thompson and his brother Roland Thompson completed the first light over Glacier National Park in 1 hour 10 minutes. They left Browning, followed a railroad line eight miles, then crossed the Flathead and Mission ranges, landing at 10 300 feet height near the city. They arrived only 10 minutes behind schedule despite high altitude and light atmospheric conditions forcing a landing at 60 mph rather than 30 to 40 mph, with no accidents.
