Weather in the Southwest was clear and warm while the Northwest saw general rains last night. Markets showed a bullish tone with higher prices in some ports, yet overall weakness near session close due to wheat and corn selling. Cattle and hog receipts noted. provisions markets mixed as traders anticipate Monday deliveries.
The Chicago wheat market opened lower as heavy auto transport traffic delayed shipments. Prices fell through the session with bids down about a cent, while buyers and sellers adjusted to the September delivery. Giger Tower and private buyers shifted activity as the market declined.
