Northern Pacific Promotes as Butte Office Consolidates
Indications last night showed steps to consolidate railway offices in Butte starting Monday. Northern Pacific will move from Main Street to the Oregon Short Line office on Park and Main, with ticketing phased in over several days to minimize public disruption. Merriman, now division freight and passenger agent, is promoted to assistant general freight and passenger agent with Helena HQ duties, while J. B. Kemp becomes general Northern Pacific agent in Butte, office to be in Mantle block West Broadway.
