New York June 24 T P O Connor M P a leader of the Irish nationalist party arrived with Richard Hazelton M P secretary of the Irish party aboard a British steamer. He plans to speak to Irish Americans and friends of Ireland about Ireland's issues and to visit Washington. He says the Ireland situation remains confused with a mood favoring armed insurrection over constitutional methods and cites Lincoln Gettysburg and Wilson as defining the war purposes for freemen.
Rear Admiral James H. Glennon and staff returned to Petrograd from Sebastopol amid a Black Sea mutiny. He urged continued war, was applauded, and a representative meeting of soldiers sailors and workers voted 60 to 3 to restore Black Sea fleet officers except Koltenake. The fleet’s mood quieted and the admiral planned visits to Archangel and Helsinki.
In St Paul on June 24 Ramsey County Attorney OBrien said the state will finish its case Monday in the trial of Frank J Dunn accused of hiring Joseph Jedenbaugh and two others to kill his wife. Mike Moore and Mrs Joseph Jedenbaugh are key witnesses. Dunns defense plans many witnesses and may push into week end.
Paris reports several serious munitions plant disasters in Germany. A Rurich correspondent cites private German sources saying a hand grenade factory near Spandau exploded June 16. Fire destroyed ammunition shops near Marienhart on June 18 and factories at Nuremberg were burned.
