French-Canadian Alliance of Butte Observes St John Day
French Canadian Alliance of Butte celebrated St John Day with literary and musical programs at the Auditorium. President A A Gagner welcomed members and praised the society formed March 9 1902 now with 75 members. Dr D F Ramille gave a historical address, ball followed in the evening.

Man slashes throat in jail escape attempt
A man cut his throat in a jail room but survived after two burglars raised the alarm. Jailer May summoned County Physician Sullivan, who treated the wounds and he rested with guard oversight. He cannot recall the act or motive and was previously a bartender on East Park Street.

Famous London judge avoids public tirade after carriage accident
In Grosvenor square one morning a well known judge's brougham was involved in an accident. Fearing rebuke he summoned a cab from a central rank and instructed the driver to reach the court of justice as quickly as possible.
