Black Beard Billy Rowe Outsmarts Crow War Party
A retelling of Billy Rowe known as Black Beard for long braided whiskers. In winter 1868 he hunted on Milk River near Havre with Charley Rowe and others, stole horses from a war party of Crows, outwitted 11 braves, and fled with a herd across the frozen river. The Crow chief later cursed his bad medicine, and Rowe remained free of Indian raids.

Rasheed Arekate and Bedouin Guides in Palestine Visit
Jericho correspondence recounts travels with Rasheed Arekate of Bethpage who animates tours between Jericho and Jerusalem. His family guards Arab tribes across a vast region, collecting fees via Cook's agency while Bedouin extort small sums as tolerated blackmail. The piece links biblical parables to daily escort practices and hospitality.
