County May Call in Poor Fund Warrants

County Treasurer Howard McIntyre told commissioners the county may soon call in 40000 of outstanding poor fund warrants by borrowing from the general fund and using a surplus in the mothers pension fund. To avoid a deficit next year the poor fund levy may rise to 26 mills or expenditures cut. The new tax roll system may cut extra costs from the installment tax law. Sheriff expenses for next year are down by 3800, not 35000 as earlier reported.
