Ancient cannon a Montana relic on display in Dillon
In Dillon on June 19, a rare relic, an ancient cannon from Bannack, the first capital of Montana, is shown at James Tochrane's Hast Orr street home. The eight sided barrel, likely over 150 years old, bears an EB T. G. mark and is mounted on a primitive support. Historians are unsure of its exact origin or early owner, and it may later be sent to Helena for the state Historical Society museum.
