Anaconda Ravaged by Furious Deluge and Hailstorm
A rainstorm and hail battered Anaconda with damages near 190000 dollars. The eastern district between Oak and Ash and Fourth to Eighth streets suffered most, cellars flooded, Washoe Park damaged, and hail breaking Greig's hothouse glass for the first time in 17 years. Debris flooded streets, trees and lawns destroyed, and a calf killed by a collapsing roof. Mayor Conyne and officials supervised flood repairs as flumes were wrecked and water raced through streets.
