Rock Blast Fatality at West Colusa Mine Claims 22 Year Old
George F. Shimmon, 22, of Butte and Isle of Man origin, died an hour after a rock fragment struck him while lagging on the 800 level. The Knights of Pythias member lived with his sister Mrs. James H. Pond at 609 West Silver and awaits an inquest to determine causes. He is survived by his sister and an uncle from Anaconda.
