Hypotheek Mine in Idaho Resumes Ore Output at Half Capacity
A report from Otto A. Mace details the Hypotheek mine near Semeston Idaho resuming operations at about half capacity. The main drift is rich in ore as a new 125-ton daily mill begins, with plans to increase to two carloads of ore and four carloads of concentrates weekly after a new flume is completed. Ore grades run high in lead and silver with gold values, and output includes crude concentrates averaging up to 60-70% lead, with concentrates sold at $15 to $50 per ton depending on quality. The Intermountain Mining Corp also reports the old Amador mine near Superior Montana operating full force, yielding high-grade concentrates and improved shipments as infrastructure and milling are restored.

United Verde mill plans large scale shaft upgrade
Plans at United Verde in Clarkdale include sinking a 2,200 foot shaft to connect with the 1,000 foot level, using an Aliis-Chalmers geared hoist with Westinghouse electricals. The system will raise seven ton skips at 800 to 900 levels and dump ore via automatic cradles into storage bins on the 1,000 foot level, with ore also from the higher level routed through a tunnel under the direction of Will Glan and R E Yates.

New Ore Shoot Found at Success Mine Level
An ore shoot has been opened in the Success district Nine Mile Coeur dAlenes. Boss Gearon reports better lower-level conditions as quartzite hosts ore bodies lengthening, with four feet of ore showing in a crosscut 100 feet below the level and 400 feet above the Storking tunnel. The ore carries galena and averages about 26 percent lead, with ongoing drift and cutting toward the 1800 foot level. Geologists expect ore shoots to persist as long as quartzite remains exposed.

Small Checks Legal Banker Ramsey Says
Ramsey, a Montana banker, states no law bans email checks and cites a history of checks being mistaken for currency. He notes a 1918 wartime postage stamp device and explains that a single check remains an order on a bank to pay a sum, not a substitute for money, with no legal conflict in issuing small checks.
