The local exchange saw only moderate activity with total shares 30,730 valued at $5,753.25. Alameda traded at 20 cents yesterday after Friday’s 2 cent sale, while several other listed stocks show limited, fluctuating quotes and sparse turnover.
Eastern market for copper ends yesterday net lower as Amalga, Anaconda, and other producers show varied openings and closings. Prices range from 53 to 92 bid with several firms posting gains or losses. total shares traded around 116,800 with Amalgamated leading and Anaconda following.
The annual meeting of the Bullwhitelkor Copper Company holders will be held at the company office in West Granite, Butte, Montana, on Monday, July 1, at 3 oclock p.m. for the purpose of electing trustees and transacting other business as may properly come before the meeting. Reports from the East Butte property of the Hast Butte company say shaft No 12’s 400 foot level shows an 11 foot intercept that, while not high grade, should concentrate and profit at current copper prices. Shaft No 11 remains 400 feet deep as the second main working shaft, with plans to connect to No 1 at 800 feet. Drifting continues, high grade ore appears, and 40 leases are active while new ground is explored and ore shipments expected.
Announcement from the North American Secret Service company plans a Butte branch at 49 West Turk Street with Edward Reed as general manager. The firm, stating experience in private and confidential matters, operates branches across the US, Canada, and Mexico. It promotes honesty and value for money in its detective services. The Butte Milwaukee Copper company reported 115 condition and detailed property ownership in the Butte district. Directors outlined Pollock and Colonel Sellers holdings, development on the Pollock claim, and a central shaft plan near 700 feet depth. Freighted costs, equipment, and treasury movements were disclosed, with no officer salaries drawn.
Special Dispatch reports Helena June 15 that Peter Larson will deed the site for the new Carnegie library. He closes a deal for the Sixth avenue and swing street corner lot, purchasing from Mrs A C Botkin of Washington. Senator Carter arranged the transfer from Mrs Botkin to Mr Ericson. Four large touring cars arrived in Lewistown this morning and were unloaded. Each car is noted as having about 60 horsepower and is owned by Dr. Wundertin, Wauman, G. O. Thich, and Harry Yaeger. The event marks a strong showing for this type of vehicle in the town.

A new two foot wide sulphide ore vein was struck on the Independence Gold and Copper Mining company property, six miles east of Race Track and five miles northwest of Butte in Deer Lodge county. The ore assays gold valued at 7.60 with copper and silver. the formation is granite with true fissure veins dipping about 75 to 85 degrees. The company is developing eight claims at the head of Independence creek, pushing sinking on the west shaft and planning further work as the sulphide zone is brought to surface.
