John Whalen, 42, fell headfirst from near the top of a stairwell at Mullins boarding house in Centerville. The skull fracture is suspected and an inquest by Coroner Egan is set for 7:30 p.m. The case is being treated as non foul play.

The coroner’s jury at the Montana Undertaking rooms ruled death from heart disease for Salime Page aged 68 after witnesses described a sudden collapse at his son William Page’s grocery on South Wyoming Street. Page, a Canadian-born Butte resident, died at 4 pm and is survived by four sons and a daughter. Funeral arrangements set for 522 East Platinum Street with requiem at Sacred Heart Church.
