Revival of Mining in Granite County
Granite County rises again in Montana mining as outside promoters visit Philipsburg to buy or develop local claims. A potential rich strike on Red Hill near the Hope mine fuels activity, with several thousand pounds of rich float previously found and a vein now emerging five to seven inches wide. Local mills process Hope ore, while non milling ore goes to East Helena.
