Vancouver reports Samuel Martin a French Canadian from Montreal is held in the city prison insane ward awaiting investigation. He is linked to a claimed murder of four men named McHugh on the Victoria Bridge in Montreal and the body cast into the river. The confession has been wired to Montreal police as a possible remorse driven act.
Washington June 12 a patent was issued today to John H Simpson of Helena for a land record book.
Chicago June 12 Captain George Streeter and his followers have recently seized control of the Lake Michigan district. The move follows ongoing tension over jurisdiction and authority in the harbor area. Local officials report the situation remains tense as negotiations continue.

A pocket book with a larger sum remained missing. a bluff by officers supposedly led to recovering $1.9. The case against the firm is expected to be settled.
