First aerial mail flight tests route over Montana city
June 11 saw a second historic air test in this city as a two pilot plane carried mail from the city to Dillon in under train time. The flight passed near business districts with loops near four buildings drawing crowds. Rumors say a mail route linking Butte Twin Bridges Virginia City and Dillon may soon replace slow service.

Dillon reports a severe windstorm and brief rain struck the Beaverhead valley at noon, soaking grain lands and briefly lighting street lamps due to a short circuit.
