The funeral for Dr G W Beal was held at Mountain View church with Dr Shippen delivering a sermon from James 1 4 14 on life as a brief journey. Friends and old neighbors observed a solemn ceremony as the casket was lowered at Mount Morah cemetery amid organ music and prayers.

A grand ball hosted by the Miners' union at the Five Mile house features an elaborate supper and fine music.
