Central High Irish Program Showcases Student Talent
Central High School held an Irish program in the large recitation room featuring recitations, piano solos by Eugene Harvey and Aileen Su, songs by a quartet, and Irish selections performed by the school orchestras. Kenneth Murphy spoke on Irish self-determination as prizes were awarded to top Irish history students. The evening graduation program was outlined with acts by St. Patrick's Scouts, school bands, and pupils from local parishes, ending with a valedictory by Catherine Goodwin. A guest speaker from the clergy attended and awards were conferred.
