Train passengers survive: Pueblo flood spurs wall of water
John Beardsley and his daughter Mi Lett Pueblo narrowly escaped disaster as a storm unleashed a canyon wall of water near Pueblo on June 3. The train they rode was washed and wrecked in the Arkansas River flood while clouds converged from the northwest and south. Beardsley, once wintering in Silver City, recounted the heavy rainfall and banked surges that left high waters in Colorado and surrounding areas before he and his daughter reached safety.
