Summer Outing for Boys Hinges on Community Support

Butte area Scout leaders launch an $8,000 fundraising drive to fund Camp Lowlands for 500 registered boys across 16 troops in Dillon, Ennis, Virginia City, Boulder, Sheridan and Whitehall. Funds will cover executive needs and equipment at the 160 acre camp purchased in 1926 with an $8,000 investment in buildings and gear.

Rescue Efforts Speeded as Italia Signals Reach Rescue Vessel

The Citta di Milano, base ship for Gen. Umberto Nobile's expedition, maintained radio contact with the Italia for 20 minutes. The Italy gave bearings pointing to a location about 20 miles north of Cape Leigh Smith, North Eastland. The Milano ordered the Hobby to move toward the sighting with sledges and guides.

Montana Products Dinner Nets 600 Reservations at Butte

Six hundred reservations are sold for the Montana Products dinner at the Masonic temple with 1,400 capacity and more tickets expected from Am amd Deer Lodge Bozeman and Dillon. County Plans Bond Redemption and Interest Payment

Silver Bow County commissioners authorized reducing indebtness by 35000 and paying 13500 in interest. Treasurer to call 35900 of a 450000 bond issue and make the annual interest payment on July 1, marking the first anniversary of courthouse bond payments. Outstanding bonds include 459000 balance and 180000 highway bonds, with some retired each year.

Southern Cross Reaches Brisbane on Pacific Flight Leg

The Southern Cross arrived in Brisbane at 10:10 a m local time after a 1762 mile leg from the Fiji Islands amid gale threats. Butte Delinquent Tax List Is Smallest In Years

The 1927 delinquent taxes on the Butte rolls total about 21,000 as books close after the second installment. Treasurer McCarthy reports November and May payments plus prior installments bring in 545,885.38 toward the 577,092.87 due, with 31,207.49 outstanding after reductions.
