Lieutenant David D Barrett visited Anaconda to drum up local interest in the Fort Douglas training camp near Salt Lake City opening July 26 and closing August 2 He praised the outdoor life and military skills offered and said a local campaign would recruit Anaconda youths. About seven local boys had expressed intent to attend at government expense.

Condition Of Hiram Rodgers Unchanged
Hospital attendants reported last evening that attorney Hiram Rodgers remained in unchanged condition after pneumonia earlier in the week. He was taken to the hospital and was thought to be improving until Thursday morning when his condition worsened and has remained serious through the latest update.
