Augustana Synod Reports Four Colleges and Five Academies
The Augustana synod of the Lutheran church owns four colleges, a seminary, and five academies. John Aho Charged With Operating Liquor Still
John Aho faces charges in Justice Court for operating a liquor still in violation of the prohibition law. Aho rented a house on Isa Sherman street where investigators found two moonshine stills in operation and allege he frequented the site. Special Investigator John F. Melia filed the complaint on behalf of the county attorney.

Jury Delivers Guilty Verdict in Tom Surle Case
A Helena jury found Tom Surle guilty of writing a worthless check for 1888 dollars drawn on the First National Bank of Helena. Judge Lynch will sentence Saturday after about 20 minutes of deliberation. Prosecution evidence showed the check was tied to a mobile purchase arranged with Peter J. Kelly of the Wells Fargo concern.
