The 1914 copper mining year was harsh with low prices and heavy curtailment. Companies produced about 749 million pounds at roughly 8. or 9? cents per pound, earning near $20 million net. In 1913 output was 178 million pounds, net earnings around $39 million. 1912 output about 400 million pounds with net earnings near $60 million. Aggregate capacity now tops 985 million pounds annually, with 4–6 months of forward sales at 1.5 to 3.2 cents. If prices hold, 1915 profits could reach $15 million to $70 million, with shares valued around $612.5 million and potential dividends rising.
