James Stunt, one of Montana’s early gold discoverers, died yesterday at his home in Deer Lodge. A native of Illinois, he served in Iowa volunteers and later joined Montana mining and mercantile work. Preparatory to the grand todee mneothon of Wagler a class of 14 was held last night. The Eagles were tested for fitness to join and learned about the route and eagle merit as officers delivered charges. In T. J. Walker’s absence, Walsa presided with Cohen as vice president and the official roster in place. Refreshments included cheese, lamb, and temperance drinks. the meeting was considered one of the most successful ever held in Butte.
