Four Trucks and Caterpillar Free for City Lease
Mayor Cocking travels to Helena to bring home three trucks leased to the city by the state highway commission. The federal government provided four trucks and a caterpillar at freight cost, totaling about $5,000 for the caterpillar, a five ton Pierce Arrow, and three 30 ton Liberty trucks. The machinery remains leased to prevent resale, with no expected government recall in five years. The Pierce Arrow unit is already in town.
