Mysterious Death in Dayton Cabin Near Ohio Street
Millie Brookner, long time Butte resident, died last evening in a squalid Dayton cabin at 444 Ohio Street. Coroner Stevens saw no need for an inquest after ruling death from natural causes amid alleged past injuries from a red light district saloon. Neighbors doubt she stayed long. Dan Moran, owner of the cabin, says she arrived homeless three days ago and he treated her with horse liniment. The body lies at Walsh's as relatives are sought. Brookner once married a California bartender and was a former Swiss Home piano player.
