County Attorney Duffy moved and won a dismissal of W James Johnson charged with violating the gambling law as all games ceased after his arrest. The case aimed to test convictions under the law and the lack of evidence led to dismissal. Ladies of the W C T U presented a petition to the city council, but it was laid on the table. Indians angered by shooting affray in Wyoming
A white stock herder and an Arapahoe Indian clashed over a disputed horse on the Wind River Reservation in Lander Wyoming. About 30 shots were fired and the Indian was killed, sparking fears of further unrest among local tribes and prompting sheepmen to move herds closer together and seek ammunition. The shooter has left the area.

No Anti-Spitting Law In Anaconda City Council Grapples With Street Upgrades
Anaconda aldermen debated an anti spitting ordinance inspired by Seattle and voted five to six against it. The council created an assistant chief of the fire department at $100 monthly, and approved Fourth street improvement funding around $150 plus required crossovers.
