A seven year old boy from East Park Avenue is to be buried after a funeral mass at St Peter's Church. The service includes a requiem high mass conducted by priests, with the location and timing noted for Saturday morning at 8 45 o clock.
In St Mark's Iscopat church, Vernol Bowman and Katheryn Hallick Searles wed in a quiet rite performed by Rev J Le pastor. Bridesmaids and best man stood with them as the couple, bound for Chile via San Francisco and New Orleans, began their married life. Miss Searles, daughter of Jesse D Searles, is Anaconda born and educated, while Mr Bowman, chemist for Andes Copper Mining at Chanaral, recently joined from the University of California. The ceremony drew many local friends and a luncheon followed at the bride's home.
Automobile and Good Roads association have all accepted their signatures and notified Martin, secretary of the state organization. The convention will feature safety talks and rival entertainment plans among towns. visitors report a strong reception in Anaconda and plans for branches and events.
William F. Fisher married Mis. Mary Mice Dolan yesterday morning at nuptial high mass in St Peters Church by Rev Father Pi bat. They departed yesterday afternoon for a honeymoon. Fisher, well known in town, works in the Anaconda Copper Mining company foundry. Bridesmaid Laurette Healy, cousin of the bride, and best man John Fisher accompanied the couple.
A diverting vaudeville show on the Empress circuit drew good houses at the Margaret theater last night. Acts by Hannan, Raye and Trane Gon, The Venetian Four, Mr and Mrs Edward Monde, and Johnson Howard and Lizette offered repartee, songs, skating and athletic burlesque with solid encores.
The Anaconda high school's junior prom will be held tonight at the Daly Gymnasium with decorations in school colors. An innovation adds booths to help partners find dances, with girls to mark on both partners’ programs the booth where they will meet. The aim is to reduce confusion and save time during the event. Special Officer James O Keefe arrested Billy Law yesterday and will charge him with petty larceny for allegedly stealing a ham and bacon from a porch at 408 Locust Street. Law is jailed in the county jail.
Members of the Anaconda Mill and Smelter Men's union vote today for local officers and for officers of the Western Federation of Miners. Montana delegates from Anaconda and Great Falls support candidates including J Rankin and Alfred Hardson. The Western Federation ticket lists Selfridge as president with a slate of officers and board members. Anaconda Smelter Men name B McCarthy for president and a long slate for other posts.
