Training Camp For Young Men in Western Montana
Lieut Bonwell arrived in Butte from Fort Missoula to organize a citizens training camp. Western Montana district aims for 262 slots with about 40 applications remaining. Government pays all expenses and 5 cents per mile for travel. camp prep requires only sleeping gear and toiletries. The program runs three weeks and promises to return participants more prepared for school or work. A July Fort Douglas opening is planned with 500 attendees there.

Miss Ellen Murphy a 17 year resident of Butte died yesterday after a two month illness. Born in Toston she had lived in northern Michigan before moving to Montana. Survived by brother F Murphy and sister Mrs Hawkins of Butte. Funeral Friday at 9 o'clock from Mrs Hawkins home 514 Empire Street to Immaculate Conception Church with mass at 9:30.
