Not Clear Sailing for Hate Raisers
Washington July 15 The Interstate Commerce Commission may act after a meeting of the Southeastern Freight Association and Southeastern Mississippi Valley use union at Louisville as tariffs are filed. If shippers allege antitrust violations, the commission could investigate rate increases as possibly undue and protect shippers. The commission would review reasonableness based on operating costs and transportation factors, with hearings and possible referrals to the attorney general. The Southern Presbyterian church plans a missionary convention this coming winter.
