Changes Made in Bill of Last Year Probed at Polls

Historic notes recall the 1924 vote on city and county consolidation. The Aug polls show lingering public skepticism, with 14,376 ballots cast and 6,855 for and 7,521 against. Some areas like Dublin gulch and Brown's gulch reported opposition and little prior public improvements. Officials say turnout was low and election reminders show changes since the prior law, including elected sheriff and county attorney with higher salaries and seven commissioners, each earning up to 248 dollars monthly.
