Stole a Melon by a Local Juvenile
A precocious East End youth named Robnnie Burke stole a watermelon from a restaurant on East Park avenue. Policeman Stebbins pursued and returned the fruit, then jailed the boy briefly before releasing him after he promised not to steal again. Dolan and Hamill, contractors for the retaining wall around the new court house grounds, have finished the work. The wall features cut granite facing laid in 1 inch courses and surmounted by a coping 18 inches wide, and it is highly admired.

Fortifying Deer Lodge Court House Grounds With Iron Posts and Chains
The plan adds an iron railing of posts set in granite coping and chained barriers to keep cattle off the new court house lawn.
